Evaluation Activity 1 (nine frames in my film)

:Evaluation Activity 1 - Nine frames in my movie
In creating my media film, we needed to create a film productions intro, I have tried to link it to our main genre horror, I used black and white colours to present creepy and sad emotions which links to horror, this could make the audience for our film wanting to see whats gonna happen because they never heard of the production company. I used crows as they represent evil and creepiness, But one thing I think needs to be improved is the name of the production company "Pixel Films" as it doesn't link to our film genre horror and it almost sounds like a kids production.I think our film production conforms to the general stereotype because it looks creepy which can attract the audience of the genre and its in black and white.
In our film we need to make all of the scenes in our film to be creepy and linking it to horror, in this scene I used a low camera angle shot, this is because it can show the activity of the main character, which is walking this tells us he is doing his normal activity walking home, this can be developed more by having the camera looking up in front of him, this is because it will make the audience weaker then the main character and the audience will think this character is important.
In this scene this is a good opening scene as it shows a young teen boy walking through a forest to go home, the murder "Leon" doesn't expect anyone to be walking through the forest at night which leads to a chase scene and then leads to a cliff hanger.
When editing the fonts into this scene I added an effect that made the text blurry and a fade
In making our film we wanted to show different prospective of people in our film we have the victim, the murder and the murdered, in this picture of the film we have the prospective of the murdered, the camera shot is a low shot which shows power into higher objects or people, in this picture we see Leon the murders head which tells us Leon has power as hes looking down on Kieran the murdered.
This scene is good as it can make the audience think what is happening, because a few seconds before this scene we have my prospective of seeing Leon dragging Kieran which can make the audience think something bad has happened. When I was editing this bit of the scene we have a pulsating affect showing someone is breathing and I could add a breathing sound effect to make this scene better.
In this picture we can see the location of our film, we decided to record in the forest as its a quiet location and also very spooky, When editing this film we decided to have it black and white to create a creepy vibe which links to our main genre horror. when picking the location we tried to pick the location with the most trees, in this scene we used a tree and a bush, to make the character look like hes hiding.
In this scene we can see a mysterious missing poster which is Leon the murder, but the audience doesn't know this yet, they find out at the end when he takes off his cap, the camera shot used here is a high angle shot where we see the poster on the ground which can tell us it isn't important, but it plays a big part in our film at the end scene because we see the missing boy at the end. this is also good as it can tell the audience that something bad has happen and could make the audience interest and maybe wanting to find out more.
In this scene we have the camera pan to the left from the missing poster to the chase scene, I think this was a good way to lead into the chase scene, as it doesn't look like a simple cut was made.
This scene is also a low angle shot and a full shot, which means the people running have power as they are higher then the camera and the full shot is a shot that shows around the location, which can tell the audience how gloomy and scary it is in the forest.
In this scene we used an over the shoulder shot to show whats in front of me, we also added a blurry effect because we didn't want to show the murderers face. When deciding the best location for the last scene we decided to go to the end of the hill, we also decided to not show much of all of the scene as the hill doesn't look like a cliff. also in this scene we added some dialog which the murder says"Silence" and i reply with "what do you want?!"
When we decided to make our film horror and thriller we decided to go with dark coloured clothing, In this scene we can see Leon wearing a black jacket, trousers and cap the colour black is used as it usually associated with crime and villains, In making our film we used the black cap to hide Leon's face which can make the audience engaged because they want to find out who is this person murdering random people.
In making our film title we decided to make it simple but effective by having the background completely black and having a slight gradient on the letters from white to gray this is effective because the title looks creepy and it can also give an idea to the audience of what kind of film this is with the words "LOST" The colour black in the background can show death and sadness which links to the genre of horror and thriller.

Soundtracks for the film

In our horror.thriller film sound effects and music is very important as it can create a intense and creepy atmosphere, all horror films use creepy sound effects to build up tension for the scares and horrors in the film, films can use very scary intensive music for jump scares or chase scenes, to have the perfect horror movie will need to have the best creepy sound effects to make the audience have suspense but also having no sound can still make a film scary just less exciting to watch.

In this video clip it has very good sound effects that can be used in our film, the song starts slow and then builds up the suspense this can be used in our film for a jump scare or a chase scene, the song starts to builds up to scare the audience, this song can be very effective in our film as we have a chase scene and i think this song will be very good for that role.

In this video clip we can hear a lot of great sound effects with a lot of horror screams and chase sound effects, everyone in the group liked the sound effects and think it can be used in the film, and the use of a calm voice can make a horror film feel creepy and mysterious as the audience can be thinking why is the voice calm and not scary but it starts to build up. we also used one part of the song to finish the scene off, that song was really effective as at the end it made such a creepy atmosphere after watching our opening.

Film pitch

Our final film project genre is thriller/horror, the film is about a young teen age boy who had gone missing for many years then he was found alive but not being up to no good, he has become a criminal,at the time people are missing had been killed, people had gone missing and many places were destroyed and the bodies hasn't been found In the film a young teenage boy walks into a forest and finds something unexpected he sees a murder happen, the news has reported the deaths but no one knows why people go missing or why people are being killed it could be just a cereal killer this is the main story line of the film.

Institution research

This is the main production company intro.
In the short institution production I tried to link it to horror and mystery genre, for the horror part I used a green screen of birds flocking into the scene i also added creepy sound effect for the intro which can make the audience think this looks creepy and might get an idea thinking its a horror film

To add on the animation we used for our institution title screen was heavily influences by the
the warner brothers animation is a big inspiration in the creation of our institution production , as we watched the Warner bros animation we noticed how smooth the animation, as you can see in our Pixel films institution we can see its very similar with the creepiness and mysterious theme and the dark colours in the background makes the audience think what is going to happen in the film.

Props and costumes for the completed film

Props and costumes for the film
Missing poster:
Our main story plot is that someone has gone missing so to present that we made a missing poster with the face of the person who gone missing, I designed this poster at home with the use of program of paint.

Black hoodie:
In the film we have a creepy and suspicious person, to show that we used a black hoodie to represent a bad guy as this type of clothing is usually associated with crime and bad guys.

The colour black is usually associated with criminals which makes the character look bad and can be seen as evil.

Youth Cap:
We used this cap to hide the identity of Leon, this is because Leon in the film is in hiding, the use of the cap can make people suspicious and curious of the person.

Target Audience research

Target audience
Age
In my film LOST I think the target audience for the film is young teens ( 15 - 25) and mid aged adults ( 20 - 25) I think this is a good age for the film because teens are usually going out with friends to the cinema, and teens usually will look for new exciting films to watch, the films genre is a thriller which can get middle aged adults to watch the film.

Gender
I think the film will have woman and men as the target audience because of the genres of the film Thriller, action , horror, I think horror and action will attract males to watch the film because most males will like action paced films and for both men and woman will like horror, and Thriller will attract females to watch the video as woman will like the exciting plot of the story.

Overall I think the target audience is mainly aimed at young male adults 15 - 25 because of the story line, this is a suitable age group because the story line is about a adult who became lost, but we find out hes not lost but hes a murderer.
I think the film should have a 15+ rating usually 15+ films are usually action, thriller or horror based films, for a mature audience, films like ride along or the ring all have something in common they all have mature content that wound't be in a kids film like toy story

Title research

Title research
The title of our film is called: LOST
The meaning of LOST in the film is about someone gone missing, we find out later that it isn't just about a missing man, as the audience will find out a murder is involved with the missing man.

In the title I used simple lettering and with shade on the letting going down, this should make the letters effective because it looks creepy and mysterious, this can make the audience guess what type of film LOST is.
